To all who have served our great nation, from the bottom of our hearts, everyone at Shore Buds wishes you a Happy Veterans Day. Every day of the year, and on Veteran’s Day especially, we’re grateful for your service and for your sacrifice.
One of the things we hear consistently in the dispensary, from veterans especially, is that cannabis has had a direct impact on people’s quality of life. That’s what we’re the most passionate about at South Shore Buds!
Sure, we love a nice buzz when the moment is buzzworthy, but we also like to educate because we know from experience that when it comes to improving people’s quality of life, whether it’s mentally or physically or a little of both ,cannabis – anecdotally at least- has helped in countless cases. So needless to say we’re thrilled to be partnering with The Massachusetts Veterans Cannabis Access Program who are looking to help expand access and education for our veterans.
The program is being headed up by the The Cannabis Center of Excellence, a research and education company that focuses on cannabis and entheogenic medicines. They are a non-profit running this four-year research and education partnership with UMass Dartmouth that includes six adult-use cannabis research studies. The CCOE is partnering with Patriots Helping Vets who supplies materials, support, and education for veterans to start their own gardens free of charge, to conduct the studies using cannabis products to be sold to veterans at special rates through select Massachusetts retail cannabis dispensaries. The CCOE will facilitate the data collection from veterans in the study and Patriots Helping Veterans will recruit veterans to participate. In the meantime, whether you’re catching your kid’s game or one on TV, or catching a peep at a leaf, or maybe even some weeds, or just catching up your to to do list, take a minute to say thanks to a veteran this weekend, or at the very least, keep them in your thoughts.
